Vera Ivanova
Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics
Vera Ivanova is a mathematician and holds a PhD in physics and mathematics. In 2003, she successfully defended her dissertation on the mechanics of deformable solids and began working at the university. While teaching mathematical methods to economics students, Vera continued her professional training through programs on modern economic analysis methods.
In 2012, she was invited to join the Center for Market Studies and Spatial Economics at the HSE University as a research fellow to conduct empirical research. Her research interests include income inequality, industrial organization, and economic history.
Vera has also developed new courses for economics students, such as Geospatial Data Analysis in Economics and Spatial Econometrics, both of which have been repeatedly recognized by students as outstanding.
Her teaching philosophy in data analysis courses is centered on presenting advanced methods in a clear and accessible way.
In 2022, she left Russia for Belgium. Currently affiliated with Université libre de Bruxelles.
