Danila Raskov

Ph.D. in Economics

Danila Raskov holds a PhD in Economics and is currently a researcher at the Department of Economic History, Uppsala University. His main research interests are the development of early political economy, cameral sciences, the history of economic and monetary institutions, religion, and economic issues. His new project deals with copper money and thinking in early modern Europe and Asia. At St. Petersburg University, he headed the Center for the Study of Economic Culture (2011 – 2022) and also served as Acting Dean of the Smolny College (Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences (2020 – 2022). He was a researcher in Walras and Pareto Center, University of Lausanne (2012, 2017), Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies, Helsinki University (2015, 2022 – 2024) and in Lichtenberg-Kolleg, Göttingen University (2018). He served on the Council of the European Society of the History of Economic Thought (2018–2024). He is the author of two books, “The Economic Institutions of Old Believers” (2012) and “The Rhetoric of Institutional Economics” (2023), he publishes in the journals  Business History, The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought, and The History of the Human Sciences.
