Kronika Certificate Program — Data for Social Good

Offered by Smolny Beyond Borders in partnership with Bard College, this program was previously known as the RIMA Certificate Program. Its new name reflects the broader scope of Kronika, a civic technology project that builds digital archives and tools to preserve independent journalism and resist censorship. The Russian Independent Media Archive (RIMA) remains one of its core projects.

Through online courses on archiving, data tools, and history, participants explore how data can help resist autocracy, strengthen independent institutions, and promote social change.

Participants may take individual courses or earn a Kronika Certificate upon completing three courses in the program.
