New Book by Andrei Rodin: Axiomatic Architecture of Scientific Theories
Direct-Media has released a new monograph by Andrei Rodin, Axiomatic Architecture of Scientific Theories.
The book offers a concise history of the axiomatic method, from Euclid’s Elements (c. 300 BC) to David Hilbert’s Foundations of Geometry (1899), and explores contemporary approaches to building axiomatic systems using set theory, category theory, and homotopy type theory. Rodin also introduces the concept of a constructive axiomatic method, which integrates elements of the traditional genetic approach to developing concepts and theories.
In addition, the monograph discusses the role of the axiomatic method in physics and other natural sciences.
This publication will be of interest to readers engaged in philosophical logic, the history and foundations of mathematics, and the philosophy of science.
