Fresh Verlag has published Denis Skopin’s book The Year Twenty Twenty-Two: Photographs from St. Petersburg, Russia. The book presents 56 photographs taken in Russia after the onset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These images explore various facets of the country’s political life, documenting Russia’s transformation from a façade of democratic governance into an overt dictatorship, marked by militaristic hysteria and the persecution of dissent.
