We are delighted to announce the recipients of the 2025 Smolny Academic Fellowship.

The selection process was incredibly competitive, and we received many outstanding applications. After much deliberation, we are excited to welcome seven new fellows to Smolny Beyond Borders:

In addition, Smolny alumna Evgenia Polyakova is joining us with a new course.

We are happy to announce that enrollment is now open for 11 courses. Two of them have been previously taught at Smolny Beyond Borders—Dmitry Bykov’s course “The Russian Émigré as a Cultural Hero” and Galina Rymbu’s course on documentary poetry—while the remaining nine courses are offered by new instructors.
